SUCCESSES:
Writers from these master classes continue to make steady progress. A writer in the Monday night group just got an agent, based on a pilot for a children’s series. Another writer just attached his script to a well known producer, who’ll now shop it to the studios. Another writer is rewriting a script for Splendid Films, the company that produced "Narc."

NEW BENEST FILM PROJECTS:
Glenn has just finished a work-for-hire project for Senya Productions: "One True Love."

APPEARANCES:
Meet Glenn at the 2008 Screenwriting Expo in late October. He will be giving two lectures, "Writing Great Film Narrative" and "Writing Horror Scenes." For more information, contact the Expo online at: www.screenwritingexpo.com

TIPS AND TRICKS:
Always think about the reader when writing your script. That person has to cover 4-5 scripts during a day, so make sure it’s easy as possible for him or her to do the job. Don’t break up dialogue with stage directions if possible, it makes the read easier. Cut your narrative down to the bare bones, as most readers speed read through this material and go straight to the dialogue. Highlight or put in slug lines anything you don’t want the reader to miss. And write your narrative with style and energy. That separates a good script from a great one.
